LWV of Kentucky works to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government. We may take action on government measures and policies in the public interest in conformity with the principles of the League of Women Voters of the US. We do not support or oppose any political party or candidate.
Read this Statement from the LWV on the Constitutional Crisis unfolding in the United States and the Unite and Rise 8.5 initiative to engage 8.5 million voters between now and November 2026, to protect and preserve our democratic institutions.
This training is for community-minded citizens who have never registered voters, those who would like a refresher, and those who want to know how to help Kentuckians who have been disenfranchised because of convictions.
Those trained will be invited to sign up for registration opportunities in high schools, community events, naturalization ceremonies, and local jails. Register HERE
LWV is open to members of every gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation!
Our name has it’s roots in our history of helping women realize their newly achieved right to vote after ratification of the 19th Amendment. Although our membership is open to all people, we remain the League of Women Voters. Why? Read this great blog post to find out: Why We Will Remain the League of WOMEN Voters.

LWVKY’s Julie Kugler-Ackley checked in with Mary Kate Genis from the LWV Cincinnati Chapter at the Cyndi Lauper concert on July 29. Cyndi Lauper’s tour features an Action Center connecting concert goers with civic organizations such as the League of Women Voters, Planned Parenthood and the Human Rights Campaign.
The crowd braved the rain to turn out for the Good Trouble Lives On rally in honor of the late John Lewis on July 17. LWVKY co-sponsored the rally, along with LWV of Lexington, Gathering for Democracy, NAACP of Lexington, Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, Neighbors Immigration, Peaceful Bluegrass Resistance, the AFT, 50501, and the Bluegrass Activist Alliance.
The General Assembly is adjourned.
