League Member Wins Grant
Voter Services Chair, Jeanine Ashley received a grant for $750 from the LWVUS. Local Leagues around the country applied for the “2020 New Citizen Voter Registration Project.” These grants stipulated that 1) Leagues must register new citizens at a minimum of five Naturalization Ceremonies, 2) they undertake activities in a nonpartisan fashion, and 3) they get contact information from new citizens to conduct “get-out-the-vote” follow-up. Jeanine applied and received a $750 grant. When we come out from under COVID-19 shutdown, LWV-Louisville members will again volunteer at New Citizen celebrations.
